Our Restoration Prep Process
We believe that preparation is the most important process in our restoration service. This is the step that sets the stage for the rest of the solution – and this is what locks in quality for a lifetime. In general, we utilize one of three methods to prepare your log home:
- Media Blasting
Our most common approach! This dry method blasts the wood surface with slightly rough materials to add texture. The media we generally use (as determined by industry standards) is crushed glass. From here, we can sand the exterior down so it looks like new. - Chemical Stripping
We tap into four chemicals to break down existing buildup and strip the wood surface. After this, we sand the exterior so it looks like new. All our products are environmentally friendly, too. - Sanding
We typically use this for interior surfaces. It’s labor-intensive, but the result delivers furniture quality to your logs.
